Juan Sarmiento
I had the pleasure of speaking to
Juan recently. He is working on his English and did a great job answering my
questions! He currently resides in Turjillo, Peru. He taught history and
literature. Juan also studies law and loves to read. He has played cello for
the past 6 years and the guitar since he was a teenager. He had some very
insightful things to share.
“What is your biggest fear in life?”
“My children. The
stutter is genetic, too”
“What would you tell other people who
stutter to help them in life?”
“If
you are stutter, you should compare with others... There are many people who
have problems more complicated. For example; the people without arms, legs…blind...these
are biggest problems…There many people have problems more complicated than us.”
Juan
shared with me the story of someone he admires: Nick Vujicic.
I didn’t know who he was, so I looked him up on Youtube. He is a man who has no
arms or legs, but he plays sports, travels around the world and MOST
importantly he LOVES HIS LIFE. He is happy. So simple, yet so profound.
